The UFC is back in their home gym, the UFC Apex, this Saturday night for a UFC Fight Night card. But this card was a bit stronger than you normally get when they dish out “Apex slop”. And then the main event of Amir Albazi vs Tatsuro Taira fell off the card. Sigh. For my MMA Prop Play of the Week: UFC Vegas 108, my prop bet is coming from the makeshift main event. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Prop Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 108
UFC Fight Night: Taira vs Park (aka UFC Vegas 108)
Start Time: Saturday – 6:00 PM EST – (ESPN/ESPN+)
We still get a flyweight main event on Saturday, but with Amir Albazi pulling out of his fight with Tatsuro Taira a few days ago, Taira instead will be fighting a short-notice replacement, South Korea’s Hyun Sung Park.
The undefeated Park is a very talented fighter, but facing Taira at this point in his career is too much too soon for him, even ignoring the extreme short-notice preparation he’s getting for it. Taira is more advanced in every aspect of fighting and has fought a far higher level of competition.
However, I’m thinking Park will last the full 25 minutes against his Japanese opponent. Taira is a good finisher, but Park is tough, and a fight is more likely to go the distance at flyweight.
