It looks like the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have to end a three-game losing streak without veteran quarterback Zach Collaros.
Head coach Mike O’Shea told reporters after practice Wednesday that Collaros will not play on Friday against the Toronto Argonauts because of a neck injury.
Collaros had started against the Argos in Week 8 but exited at halftime after completing just five of 10 passes for 79 yards and throwing two interceptions, with Chris Streveler taking over in the second half.
Collaros suffered a neck injury in Week 7 against the Calgary Stampeders following a significant hit that knocked him to the turf. O’Shea told reporters that he does not expect Collaros to be sidelined long-term.
The 36-year-old has 1,031 passing yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions through five games this season.
With Collaros officially ruled out, Streveler would be in line to start against the Argonauts.
