If it seems like the Los Angeles Lakers have played the Phoenix Suns a lot this month, it’s because they have. The meeting between the two teams on Tuesday night will be the third of the month.

The Suns bested the Lakers, 125-108, back on Dec. 1, and then L.A. got some revenge with a 116-114 victory two weeks later on Dec. 14. Whoever wins the matchup between the two teams on Tuesday night will take the lead in the season series.
LeBron James will be available for Lakers vs. Suns
Unfortunately for L.A., they’ll have to try to pull out a win over the Suns without the services of star guard Luka Doncic, who has been ruled out of the game due to a left calf contusion. Doncic suffered the injury during the team’s most recent game against the L.A. Clippers. His status beyond the game against Phoenix is considered day-to-day.

In addition to Doncic, the Lakers will also be without Gabe Vincent and Rui Hachimura, as they’ve both been ruled out of the game due to injury issues.
The good news for the Lakers, though, is that star forward LeBron James will be available against Phoenix, as he isn’t listed on the official injury report for the contest.
James has appeared in 11 games for the Lakers so far this season and posted averages of 20.2 points, 7.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds per performance. He’s fresh off of his most productive performance of the season as he tallied 36 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists against the Clippers on Saturday night.

Lakers guard Austin Reaves, who has missed the last three games with a calf strain, is listed as questionable for the contest.
The Lakers and Suns will also meet two times later in the season, once in February and once in April.
