MONTREAL – Ryan McNally and Domenico Piazza, both members of the McGill University football team, are among 140 draft-eligible prospects that have accepted invitations to upcoming CFL Combine camps, where they will be showcasing their skills for general managers, coaches and player personnel.

McNally is headed to the CFL Invitational Combine, a preliminary evaluation camp at the University of Waterloo in southern Ontario, on Feb.28, with the hopes of joining Piazza and the top-ranked class of 2025 at the main CFL Combine in Regina, Mar. 21-23. The CFL Global Draft and the CFL Draft will take place on April 29.

McNally, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound free safety, ranked fifth among RSEQ conference leaders with 4.4 tackles per game in 2024. The 24-year-old economics senior from Laval, Que., registered 30.5 total tackles, including 25 solos and 11 assisted in seven regular season contests. He added three knockdowns, one interception and tied for the league lead with a pair of forced fumbles. He was recruited to McGill in 2021 from Vanier College.

Piazza is a 6-foot-2, 290-pound offensive lineman from Mercier, Que., who earned RSEQ all-conference honours and U SPORTS All-Canadian status last fall. He started all eight regular season games in the 2024 campaign, including seven at left tackle and one at left guard. The fifth-year senior is 24 years old and majoring in industrial and labour relations. He is a product of John Abbott College.

The 11-team OUA conference leads the way with 56 players who have accepted an invite to either of the Combine camps, followed by the six-team Canada West division which has 35. The Quebec-based RSEQ, a five-team league since Bishop’s departed for the Maritimes in 2017, has 25 players listed and the five-team AUS has 10. There are also 15 players from NCAA institutions, two from international teams overseas and one from a junior program.

In total, all 27 U SPORTS football-playing institutions will be represented at the two camps. The Université de Montréal leads all schools with a dozen players represented. Among the top 10 contributing teams is Western (11), Alberta (9), Queen’s (9), UBC (7), Laurier (7), Ottawa (6), Calgary (5), Manitoba (5) and Regina (5). Comparing the RSEQ programs, Montréal has 12, followed by Concordia (4), Sherbrooke (3), McGill (2) and Laval (1).
