The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are making adjustments to their coaching staff ahead of the 2026 CFL season.

The Bombers announced Monday that Tommy Condell has been named offensive co-ordinator, Jake Thomas is the new defensive line coach and Jason Hogan is reprising his role as running backs coach.

The moves come after the team finished the 2025 campaign fourth in the West with a 10-8 record to clinch a crossover playoff spot, before falling 42-33 to the Montreal Alouettes in the East Division semifinal. It was the first time in five years Winnipeg did not play in the Grey Cup.

Condell, who spent the last two seasons as offensive co-ordinator for the Ottawa Redblacks, returns to the Bombers where was special teams co-ordinator in 1997 under then-head coach Jeff Reinbold.

He takes over from Hogan, who served as offensive co-ordinator last season and will return as running backs coach, a role he filled from 2022 through 2024.

Former Bombers defensive lineman Thomas takes over coaching duties from the retiring Darrell Patterson.

The move comes a month after Thomas, 35, wrapped his playing career following 13 seasons with Winnipeg. The Canadian amassed 196 tackles, 33 sacks, five forced fumbles and one interception over 223 regular-season games, and won Grey Cups with the Bombers in 2019 and 2021.
