More than nine years since the anime debut, My Hero Academia concluded its story in December this year, bringing an end to one of the best eras of Shonen series. Based on Kohei Horikoshi’s hit Weekly Shonen Jump manga, the anime debuted in April 2016, receiving global popularity for its unique power system, captivating story, and lovable characters. The story ends as the heroes win the long and brutal Final War against All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, as Hero Society rebuilds the country once again while carrying the tragedy and scars of the war with them.
Since it’s Christmas Eve, the series joins in on the festivities with an adorable visual of Izuku, Katsuki, and All Might. The young Izuku and Katsuki are looking excitedly at Santa Might while wearing the same costume as him. All Might, in his prime form, is carrying a giant bag of gifts for kids, and it’s currently Izuku and Katsuki’s turn. The visual was shared by the official X handle of the anime as it sends holiday greetings to fans. The post immediately went viral, gaining tens of thousands of likes in just hours. As fans enjoy the holidays after the story’s bittersweet ending, My Hero Academia‘s anime is about to return next year with a special surprise.

The English version of the volume was finally released in October this year, wrapping up the incredible story with a special chapter following Class 1-A students, U.A.’s Big Three, and the pro heroes after the timeskip. It chapter features their get-together while revealing their hero rankings, centering primarily on Ochako Uraraka.
The story is set shortly after the main story’s ending, after the time skip, when the students at U.A. have all grown to become incredible pro heroes. The upcoming episode will premiere worldwide on Crunchyroll, where you can also catch up with all eight seasons of the anime. A teaser or visual of the special episode hasn’t been shared yet. Additionally, the website is also teasing at least two more announcements in the future, and there might be more in the future. There are still a few months left before the anniversary, so the series might share the update in the first quarter of next year.
