Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the top 5 single-season scoring leaders for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Oklahoma City Thunder franchise has rostered a bevy of talented scorers. They currently have one of the best scorers in the league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Let’s highlight the Thunder’s top five all-time single-season points per game leaders.

1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 2024-25, 32.7 Points Per Game

In 2019, Gilgeous-Alexander was traded to the Thunder as part of a move that landed Paul George on the Clippers. That deal has the potential to go down as one of the best trades in franchise history. Gilgeous-Alexander has become the cornerstone of the franchise, averaging at least 30.1 points per game in each of the last three seasons. As the Thunder head into the final weekend of the 2024-25 season, Gilgeous-Alexander leads the NBA by averaging 32.7 points per game. And to top things off, the Thunder have the best record (66-14) in the Association.

2. Kevin Durant, 2013-14, 32 Points Per Game

Durant, in 2007, was selected second overall by the Thunder’s previous franchise name, the Seattle SuperSonics. He won the Rookie of the Year Award in the 2007-08 season, before the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City for the 2008-09 season. The 2013-14 season was Durant’s best, leading the league by averaging 32.0 points per game. He also averaged 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.4 three-pointers on his way to being named league MVP. Teammate Russell Westbrook scored 21.8 points that season. Oklahoma City made it to the 2014 NBA Finals but lost to the Spurs.

3. Russell Westbrook, 2016-17, 31.6 Points Per Game

The SuperSonics selected Westbrook with the fourth pick in the 2008 Draft. He played the first 11 seasons of his career with the Thunder, making eight All-Star teams along the way. Westbrook also led the league in scoring twice, one of which was when he averaged 31.6 points during the 2016-17 season. In addition to his scoring contributions, Westbrook averaged 10.7 rebounds, 10.4 assists and 1.6 steals on his way to being named MVP of the league, and also began his streak of three straight seasons in which Westbrook averaged a triple-double.

4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 2022-23, 31.4 Points Per Game

The 2022-23 season proved to be a breakout campaign for Gilgeous-Alexander. Prior to that season, SGA had never averaged more than 24.5 points per game. He then averaged 31.4 points per contest in 2022-23. Part of what helped the point guard’s cause was that Gilgeous-Alexander led the league with 17.8 two-point shot attempts per game. For the season, Gilgeous-Alexander shot 51.0% from the field and 90.5% from the charity stripe. The star guard ranked 5th in MVP voting that off-season.

5. Kevin Durant, 2009-10, 30.1 Points Per Game

Durant led the league in scoring for the first time in his career by averaging 30.1 points during the 2009-10 season. That helped him make his first career All-Star team and finish second in MVP voting. Durant went on to lead the league in scoring four total times with the Thunder. He eventually left the team following the 2015-16 season to sign with the Warriors. Across 641 career regular-season games with the Thunder, Durant averaged 27.4 points, 1.8 three-pointers and shot 48.3% from the field.
