Nothing gets better than a Boxing Day Ashes fixture at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, but F1 star Oscar Piastri found himself in the firing line of England’s Barmy Army on Saturday.
While the Melburnian was being interviewed on the field during the tea break on day two, the travelling support greeted him with pointed mockery and reminded him of his recent professional woes.

Piastri shared his personal “All-Time Ashes XI,” but was quick to admit that his knowledge of racing far outweighs his grasp of cricket history. His selection leaned heavily toward the modern era, featuring Australian icons like Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne, and Glenn McGrath.
He also included current stars Mitchell Johnson and Pat Cummins to round out a formidable bowling attack. However, he left out legends like Steve Waugh and Allan Border, who are amongst the top 5 run scorers in Ashes history.
Attempting to bridge the divide, Piastri included English legends Alastair Cook, James Anderson, and Ian Botham to McLaren fans back in England. His lineup was completed by the legendary Don Bradman and wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist.
