A busy Boxing Day for the Prince George Fire Rescue team with two separate structure fires.
The first occurred on December 26, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m. where crews from four halls responded to a reported structure fire located in the Lombardy Mobile Home Park on Norwood Street.
The first arriving crew found a vacant single detached trailer, involved in heavy flame and with thick black smoke exiting from the windows. The fire was deep seated and had caused significant structural damage, making firefighting efforts difficult.
Crews were on scene for a few hours extinguishing the blaze. The cause is under investigation.
There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
The second fire also on December 26, 2025, occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. when Prince George Fire Rescue crews responded to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Douglas Street.
Arriving crews found heavy smoke issuing from the rear of the residence and fire in the basement.
A quick attack rapidly extinguished the fire. Two residents were transported by ambulance to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Emergency support services were activated to provide assistance to the residents. Damage to the residence is estimated at $150,000.
The fire appears accidental in nature.
