BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – An Illinois college student living with a rare inflammatory disorder received a life-changing opportunity through Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, which helped him to improve his tennis skills.
Sury Bahadur has struggled with a disorder that causes inflammation in small blood vessels, affecting his nose and sinuses, lungs, and kidneys. Despite the challenges, Bahadur hopes to earn a scholarship to play at a larger university in Florida.

As part of his wish, Bahadur and his family spent a week on Florida’s Suncoast, where he received training from professional players at IMG Academy. The experience also included workshops focused on leadership development, weight training and mental strength.
Bahadur also had the opportunity to play tennis with former French Open champion Jimmy Arias. Arias also invited Bahadur to be his guest at next year’s U.S. Open in New York.
