Should we expect even more shit to go down if there are even more billions of dollars on the elevator at the Met Gala this year? Forbes has announced that Beyoncé is officially a billionaire, making her the fifth-ever musician to reach the milestone. She joins her husband, Jay-Z, along with Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Rihanna. According to Forbes, Beyoncé’s 2024 album Cowboy Carter — which led to a Christmas NFL halftime performance and the highest-grossing concert tour of 2025 — ultimately helped her cross the nine-figure threshold. Although Beyoncé does have other business ventures, including her hair-care brand Cécred and whiskey label SirDavis, Forbes reports that her music is responsible for most of her personal wealth via her catalogue rights and touring income.

The Cowboy Carter tour reportedly pulled in more than $400 million in ticket sales and $50 million in merchandise sales at shows. Since Beyoncé’s own Parkwood Entertainment was in charge of the tour, she’s said to have gotten a higher cut of the profit than is typical for a singer. Factoring in the $50 million the NFL paid for her Emmy-winning Beyoncé Bowl and the $10 million she made off her Levi’s commercials, Forbes estimates that Beyoncé made a total pretax income of $148 million in 2025. We can only hope that manager Blue Ivy Carter got paid her fair share, too.
