“Jay Kelly” Headline Gala - The 69th BFI London Film Festival

George and Amal Clooney, as well as their children, have been granted French citizenship, per the Associated Press. The family’s naturalization was reportedly announced over the weekend by the French government.

The Clooneys have called France home for a few years already. In 2021, they bought an 18th-century mansion in the south of France, complete with olive groves, vineyards, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and sprawling gardens. George told Esquire in October that they live “on a farm in France,” which they apparently particularly enjoy for the privacy it allows their 8-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. “I was worried about raising our kids in L. A., in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life,” he said. “France — they kind of don’t give a shit about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”

Sounds très idyllique to me. Do you think they might make a cameo on the next season of Emily in Paris?
