Tony Khan has finally broken his silence on Cody Rhodes‘ comments that he felt disrespected while working at AEW.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan recently spoke with Q101. When asked about Cody Rhodes’ comments on the Bill Simmons podcast, where he said it’s one thing to feel disrespected while in WWE because they are “the Yankees”, but to feel disrespected during his time in AEW, a company he and his friends helped build, he wouldn’t stand for it. Khan offered a very levelheaded response to Cody’s comments.

“You know, he does a lot of interviews,” Tony Khan began. “And I think when you have to say so many words, so often, because he worked so hard, he works such a big schedule. To his credit, I bet he does hundreds of interviews a year, and I’m not sure I agree with that.

“But I also would give him the benefit of the doubt, that I’ve heard him say a lot of positive things, too. And for somebody that doesn’t work here and that’s involved in the competitive promotion, he’s usually pretty gracious with the things he says.

Tony Khan has seen Cody Rhodes since his AEW departure

“And I’ve seen him since he’s been gone, and it’s always been very positive and good. I have only good things to say about him and his contributions here… So I’m very happy with where things are at. And I wish everybody who’s left here the best, including Cody. I think he’s done a lot of great things, and I wish him the best.”
