The Pittsburgh Penguins made a minor trade with their Pennsylvania rival Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, dealing forward Philip Tomasino in exchange for defenceman Egor Zamula.

Zamula, 25, has one assist over 13 games with the Flyers this season and two assists in two games with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The native of Chelyabinsk, Russia has spent his entire six-year career with the Flyers, scoring eight goals and 33 assists in 168 games.

Zamula, currently on a two-year, $3.4 million contract, will be a restricted free agent this summer.

Tomasino, 24, has one assist in nine games with Pens in 2025-26, adding five goals and 10 assists over 14 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

Selected 24th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2019, Tomasino has 34 goals and 61 assists over 218 career games in the NHL.

The Mississauga, Ont., recorded 11 goals and 12 assists over 50 games with the Pens in 2024-25, his first season in Pittsburgh.

Tomasino is signed to a one-year, $1.75 million contract and will be restricted free agent after this season.
