Ronda Rousey‘s history in WWE has been an up-and-down one, and the former WWE star recently had a lot to say about the stars in the company.
Speaking during a recent appearance on comedian Bert Kreischer’s “Bertcast” podcast (via Fightful), Rousey laughed as Kreischer could not remember the men’s champion during Rousey’s time with the company. According to Rousey, she says that stars in WWE often believe they’re bigger than they are.
“The fact that you can’t recall,” Rousey said with a laugh. “The fact that you can’t recall it makes it so funny because I think a lot of people in the WWE think they’re a lot bigger stars than they are.”
Rousey is best known as being one of the best female UFC stars in history. However, the star did have a stint in WWE as well. Rousey first appeared in 2014, appearing sporadically through 2017. In 2018, she signed a full-time contract with the company and became WWE RAW Women’s Champion shortly after. In 2022, she would win the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Despite the success with the company, Rousey’s time in WWE had its ups and downs. The star was often criticized for her matches. She has also often spoken about not feeling wanted by fans or the company. Her final match came in 2023, when she lost her first-ever match in WWE via submission to Shayna Baszler at WWE SummerSlam. After that, she announced that she had retired, though she would unretire and wrestle across the independent circuit for a few months after.
