For the centennial of Langley United Soccer Association, the club is asking people to choose between two retro uniform designs.

“It’s time to celebrate a century of soccer, community, and unforgettable moments on the pitch,” an online LUSA invitation said.

“To mark this incredible milestone, we’re bringing a touch of history back to life with our retro-themed kit. Two classic-inspired designs are up for selection, each paying tribute to the eras that shaped our club.”

Comments on the LUSA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/LUSAsoccer seemed to show most comments preferred Option A.

“If you’re going for retro A is the only option,” one remarked. “B is too modern”

Marcel Horn, LUSA Executive Director, said anyone can vote on the outfits, and the winner will be the club’s spring uniform.

“Then, in January, we want to launch a design input from the membership and the community for the fall uniform,” Horn added.

With thousands of players, LUSA is a member club of the Canada Soccer Association and BC Soccer, offering programs from U4 to adult for all skill levels.

It was founded as a youth soccer club in 1926, and has grown cnsiderably.

In February of 2020, LUSA was awarded a National Youth License by the Canadian Soccer Association.

Then, in 2024, Langley United became a expansion franchise playing in the men’s and women’s divisions of League1 B.C. for the 2025 season – and the men’s team won the league title in their very first season.

Horn said 2026 was shaping up to be a great year for soccer in Langley.

“We land our centennial in the year of the World Cup, and we also had won [our] inaugural year of the League1 this past season, which puts LUSA into the Canadian Cup in May,” Horn explained.

“So we enter our 100th year, having earned our berth in our inaugural year in a semi-pro franchise as the only non-profit in Canada with this franchise. [As a result we] challenge into the Canada Cup where we could square off with the Whitecaps or Toronto FC, depending on who we get drawn in February.”
