In Wayne County, Honesdale native Aaron Kennedy celebrated his MMA victory at Runaway Train Brewery.
HONESDALE, Pa. — On Sunday, a hometown victory party for MMA fighter Aaron Kennedy was held in Wayne County.
The community gathered at Runaway Train Brewery in Honesdale to celebrate the art of war, undefeated bantamweight world champion, defending his title in a fight in December.
Kennedy is a 2012 graduate of Honesdale High School.
Kennedy trains in Bloomsburg, where they try to host victory parties after each win. This is the first one in his hometown.
“We had people in and out all day, you know, a lot of people I went to school with, people I knew growing up, so it’s just cool to me on a, on a personal level to kind of, you know, reconnect with people that I haven’t seen because I’ve been so busy, you know, fighting and training,” said Kennedy.
Kennedy is hoping to find an opponent for his next fight. He’s planning for late march.
