Wilfried Nancy’s stint as manager of Celtic is already over.

The team announced the firing of the former CF Montreal boss after 33 days in charge of the club.

“The Club thanks Wilfried for his efforts and wishes him and his family well for the future,” the team said in a statement.

His last match at the helm of the club was Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Rangers in the Old Firm derby.

Nancy, 48, took charge of the club on a permanent basis on Dec. 3 following the departure of Brendan Rodgers. Club legend Martin O’Neill had served as interim manager following Rodgers’ exit, winning seven of his eight matches in charge. In eight matches under Nancy, the Bhoys won just two and lost six.

Celtic currently sits second in the table, level on points with third-place Rangers and six behind leaders Hearts.

Prior to joining the Hoops, the Le Havre, France-born Nancy spent three seasons at Columbus Crew, winning the MLS Cup in 2023 and MLS Manager of the Year in 2024.

He first came to North America in 2005 to play at Université du Québec à Montréal and became a full-time coach in the province in 2006. He joined the Montreal Impact academy in 2011 and worked his way up to manager of the senior side following the departure of Thierry Henry in 2021.

Nancy was 37-17-25 as manager of CFMTL.
