LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head women’s tennis coach Veronika Golanova has announced a pair of signees from Tunisia set to join the team in advance of the 2026 dual match season. The Aggies welcome Chahd Tourkhani (Tunis, Tunisia) and Nadine Abid (Sfax, Tunisia) in advance of the 2025-26 season.
Chahd Tourkhani arrives at USU from Tunis, Tunisia, after reaching as high as 315th in the ITF Junior world rankings, also being ranked as high as 1198th in the ITF Singles rankings. She has a career junior record of 93-58 in singles play and 62-49 in doubles. She has won four singles and six doubles ITF tournaments, including singles wins at the J30 Megrine, J30 Kairouan and J60 Kilibia tournaments. Tourkhani also claimed doubles titles at the J30 Boufarik, J30 Bizerte and J30 Kairouan tournaments in 2024. Tourkhani is a four-time Tunisian champion and qualified for the main draw at the Jasmine Open in Tunisia.
Nadine Abid comes to Logan from Sfax, Tunisia. Abid has reached a career-high ITF Junior world ranking of 430 while amassing a 17-11 singles record and 14-11 doubles record. She claimed a singles title at the J30 Gremda tournament and has earned five doubles titles, winning the J60 Kelibia, J30 Oran, J30 Algiers, J5 Casablanca and J4 Carthage tournaments. Abid was also a member of the Tunisian national team and a Fed Cup team member, and was a Tunisian National Singles Champion after twice finishing as a runner-up.
