TSN CFL Insider Farhan Lalji gave the SportsCage his.
“When you look at it all in terms of who are the teams that are going to improve, who are the teams that are going to step back, it’s just so early, we haven’t gotten to free agency yet. I do not expect there to be big moves. I still think we’re going to wind up with the majority of top players signing with their teams. What allows that to happen is that the cap has gotten a little bigger. It’s not just the 25-to-26 number. It’s the actual implementation of the 24-to-25 number. Teams didn’t necessarily dive into that additional half a million dollars available to them. I think you’re going to see them dive into it now. So, I don’t think you’re going to see a ton of movement.”
Lalji added, “I believe the team that’s going to take the biggest step is the Ottawa Redblacks. The reason for that is Ryan Dinwiddie going to Ottawa. I think you’re going to see a lot more out of Dru Brown because Dinwiddie is going to be able to get the most out of him. This has been a team that’s been on the verge every year we go into it, and we think they’ve won free agency we think that they’ve made the biggest improvements. I think the addition of Ryan Dinwiddie is going to see Ottawa take the biggest jump of any team in 2026.”
