MINOT — Former UND head women’s soccer coach Chris Logan is stepping down after one season as head women’s soccer coach at Minot State.

Minot State announced Logan is stepping down for personal reasons.

“We thank Chris Logan for his time and contributions to the Minot State women’s soccer program,” said Janna McKechnie, Minot State associate athletic director for external operations. “We appreciate his dedication to our student-athletes and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Logan was introduced as the Beavers’ head coach in February. In his lone season at Minot, the team went 9-5-5, finishing fourth in the NSIC standings. The team scored 36 goals, which is tied for the fifth-most in a single season in program history.

Logan spent eight seasons at UND, leading the Fighting Hawks to a 51-68-24 record, including a 21-41-12 mark in conference play.

In the 2024 season — Logan’s last at UND — the Hawks finished 4-8-6 overall and 0-4-4 in the Summit.

After Logan’s contract wasn’t renewed following the 2024 season, he filed a Title IX lawsuit against UND in which he claims employment retaliation for raising gender equity concerns.

The Herald reported last summer the jury trial for that case has been scheduled for May 11, 2027.
