Toronto Maple Leafs

Defenceman Brandon Carlo will return to the Maple Leafs’ lineup on Tuesday when his team takes on the Florida Panthers, according to TSN’s Tony Ambrogio.

Carlo, 29, hasn’t played since Nov. 18 after undergoing foot surgery.

The 6-foot-5 right-shot defenceman has two assists in 18 games this season while averaging 20:04 of ice time.

Additionally, Joseph Woll is expected to start against the Panthers on Tuesday.

Woll, 27, has an 8-4-2 record this season with a 2.82 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.

Forward William Nylander and goaltender Anthony Stolarz both skated prior to practice.

Nylander missed the team’s last four games with an undisclosed injury while Stolarz has been out since Nov. 11 with an upper-body injury.

Montreal Canadiens

Forward Patrik Laine skated by himself prior to the Canadiens’ practice on Tuesday, according to Karine Hains of The Hockey News.

Laine, 27, has been out since Oct. 16 while recovering from a procedure to correct a core muscle injury.

He was originally given a 3-to-4 month time frame for his return.

The 6-foot-4 winger appeared in five games this season, recording an assist.

Additionally, defenceman Kaiden Guhle participated in the Canadiens’ practice on Tuesday in a regular sweater, according to Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette.

Guhle, 23, has been out since Oct. 16 with a partially torn adductor muscle and was originally given an 8-to-10 week timeframe for his return.

The 6-foot-3 left-shot defenceman has a goal and two points in five games this season. He had six goals and 18 points in 55 games last season while averaging 21:11 of ice time.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators recalled goaltender Mads Sogaard from the AHL’s Belleville Senators and assigned goalie Hunter Shepard to Belleville on Tuesday.

Sogaard, 25, has a 2-8-4 record in the AHL this season with a 3.49 goals-against avaerage and an .887 save percentage.

The 6-foot-7 netminder appeared in two games in Ottawa last season, going 1-1-0 with a 5.24 GAA and an .800 save percentage.

Shepard, 30, allowed 2 goals on 12 shots in relief of Leevi Merilainen during the Senators’ 5-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Monday.

The 6-foot netminder has a 5-5-1 record in the AHL this seaosn with a 3.16 GAA and .905 save percentage.

Edmonton Oilers

Tristan Jarry participated in the Oilers optional skate on Tuesday prior to their game against the Nashville Predators.

Jarry, 30. was acquired by the Oilers from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 12 and participated in three games before going down with a lower-body injury.

The 6-foot-4 netminder has a 12-3-1 record this season with a 2.73 goals-against average and .906 save percentage split between the Penguins and Oilers.

Connor Ingram is expected to get the start in net against the Predators on Tuesday.

Ingram has appeared in four games this season and has a 2-2-0 record with a 3.28 GAA and an .883 save percentage.

Additionally, forwards Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane are both expected to be healthy scratches on Tuesday.

Frederic is in the first year of an eight-year, $30.8 million contract and has two goals and three points in 41 games this season.

Mangiapane joined the Oilers on a two-year, $7.2 million deal in the off-season and has five goals and 11 points in 40 games this season.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks recalled goaltender Ville Husso from the AHL’s San Diego Gulls on Tuesday.

Husso, 30, appeared in nine games with the Ducks this season, going5-3-1 with an .884 save percentage and 3.25 goals against average.

The 6-foot-3 netminder also has an 8-6-3 record in the AHL this season with a .903 save percentage and 2.55 GAA.

Carolina Hurricanes

Forward Seth Jarvis appears set to return to the lineup when the Hurricanes take on the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, according to team reporter Walt Ruff.

Jarvis, 23, missed the team’s last eight games while dealing with an upper-body injury and was originally given a week-to-week time frame for his return.

The 5-foot-10 centre has 19 goals and 29 points in 34 games this season.

Additionally, defenceman Jaccob Slavin participated in the morning skate in a non-contact jersey.

Slavin, 31, has only appeared in five games this season as he’s dealing with a lower-body injury.

The 6-foot-3 left-shot defenceman recorded six goals and 27 points in 80 games last season while averaging 21:34 of ice time.

Brandon Bussi is expected to get the start in net against the Stars on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4 netminder has a 14-2-1 record this season with a 2,25 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.

Chicago Blackhawks

Forward Connor Bedard took part in Blackhawks’ practice on Tuesday in a non-contact jersey, according to Scott Powers of The Athletic.

Bedard, 20, missed the team’s last 11 games after injuring his shoulder in the final seconds of Chicago’s 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Dec. 12.

The 5-foot-10 centre has been one of the premier offensive threats to start the season, recording 19 goals and 44 points in 31 games.

Colorado Avalanche

Head coach Jared Bednar announced that captain Gabriel Landeskog will be out “some weeks” with an upper-body injury while defenceman Devon Toews is week-to-week with an upper-body injury on Tuesday.

Landeskog, 33, left Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers after colliding with the opposing team’s post.

Bednar added that it is too soon to say if he will not be available to Sweden for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The 6-foot-1 winger has seven goals and 22 points in 41 games this season after missing the previous two seasons with a knee injury.

Toews, 31, was injured during the team’s 5-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes and Bednar says the best case scenario is for him to miss the next two weeks.

The 6-foot-1 left-shot defenceman has a goal and 13 points in 40 games this season while averaging 22:20 of ice time.

He was named to Canada’s team for the 2026 Winter Olympics on New Years’ Eve.

Dallas Stars

Joe Oettinger will be in net against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday, according to team radio analyst Bruce LeVine.

Oettinger, 27, has a 16-7-4 record this season with a .905 save percentage and 2.62 goals-against average.

Additionally, head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters that captain Jamie Benn is feeling better after sustaining an upper-body injury on Sunday but is considered day-to-day.

The 6-foot-3 winger was injured after colliding with Montreal Canadiens forward Zachary Bolduc on Sunday and hitting his head on the ice.

Benn has seven goals and 14 points in 23 games this season.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings assigned forward Nate Danielson to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday.

Danielson, 21, was drafted ninth overall by the Red Wings in 2023 and has two goals and seven points in 28 games in the NHL this season.

The 6-foot-2 centre also has a goal and five points in four AHL games this season.

Florida Panthers

Forward Matthew Tkachuk was a full participant in the team’s morning skate prior to their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Tkachuk, 28, has been out the entire regular season after undergoing off-season surgery.

The 6-foot-2 winger recorded 22 goals and 57 points in 52 games last season and added eight goals and 23 points in 23 playoff games to lead the Panthers to their second of back-to-back Stanley Cup titles.

Tkachuk was named to the United States Olympic team in June.

Sergei Bobrovsky will be in the Panthers’ net when they take on the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, according to head coach Paul Maurice.

Bobrovsky, 37, has a 17-10-1 record with an .885 save percentage and 2.84 goals-against average this season.

Philadelphia Flyers

Matvei Michkov took part in the team’s morning skate after missing Monday’s practice but is a game-time decision for their game against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters.

Michkov, 21, was banged up after taking a puck off his left foot during the Flyers’ 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

The 5-foot-10 winger has nine goals and 23 points in 40 games this season.

Dan Vladar will get the start in net against the Ducks after being named to Czechia’s Olympic team on Tuesday.

Vladar, 28, has won four of his last five games and has a 15-6-3 record this season with a 2.39 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Forward Evgeni Malkin was a full participant during Penguins practice on Tuesday.

He was no contact at Friday’s practice. That was his first time skating with the team since getting sidelined with an upper-body injury. He has missed the last 15 games.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning recalled defenceman Simon Lundmark from the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch on Tuesday.

Lundmark, 25, has five assists in 27 games in with the Crunch this season.

The 6-foot-2 right-shot defenceman joined the Lightning organization in the off-season on a two-year, two-way contract.
