The night session at the RAC Arena in Perth will host the second quarterfinals of the 2026 United Cup as Stan Wawrinka’s Team Switzerland takes on the gritty Team Argentina. In the third quarterfinal, Team Belgium will face Team Czech Republic in a mouthwatering clash. In this article, we will offer predictions for all the singles matches in both ties. But which players will get the win?

United Cup Quarterfinal Predictions
Team Belgium vs Team Czech Republic
Elise Mertens vs Barbora Krejcikova

Head-to-Head: first meeting

It is somewhat surprising that these two players have never met before, but that actually makes this even more interesting. Elise Mertens did brilliantly to defeat the talented Victoria Mboko and has looked sharp so far. However, not many players can stay with Barbora Krejcikova at her best, and she brought a great level against Maya Joint. Mertens is consistent and will pose numerous questions to Krejcikova, but the Czech’s variety and craftiness should prevail.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3

Zizou Bergs vs Jakub Mensik

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Zizou Bergs got the biggest win of his career in terms of rankings as he upset Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. After a close loss in his first match against Zhizhen Zhang, this win must have done wonders for his confidence. If he can play like this, he will trouble Jakub Mensik, who had a poor showing against Alex de Minaur. Mensik’s forehand was completely off, and Bergs will look to target that wing with pace. Mensik is still the favourite due to his big serve and groundstrokes, but I fancy Bergs to win this if he can take this deep into the third set.
Prediction: Bergs in 3

Team Switzerland vs Team Argentina
Belinda Bencic vs Solana Sierra

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Belinda Bencic was at her best against Jasmine Paolini as she defeated the Italian player in straight sets to go undefeated in the group stage. Bencic always steps up when playing for her country, and her groundstrokes have looked sharp and decisive. If she can play anywhere close to her best, Solana Sierra will find it extremely difficult to contain the quality.
Prediction: Bencic in 2

Stan Wawrinka vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-Head: first meeting

40-year-old Stan Wawrinka has battled through marathon matches so far and has delivered some vintage tennis at times. Even in his last year on Tour, his shotmaking is elite. Sebastian Baez got the biggest win of his career against Taylor Fritz as he displayed a masterclass in grit. Baez served brilliantly and will need to do that once again to avoid getting broken often. He has the advantage if the match goes long and will rely on his scrambling to enforce errors from Wawrinka’s racquet. This should be a great contest of offense vs defense. I am going with Wawrinka.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 3
