United were stunned by Burnley inside the opening 15 minutes of the Premier League contest, with Ayden Heaven putting the ball in the back of his own net.

However, Benjamin Sesko came to the Red Devils’ rescue in the second half after scoring a stunning brace 10 minutes apart in Wednesday evening’s clash.

Jaidon Anthony cancelled out United’s lead over Burnley in the 66th minute and Fletcher’s men had to settle for a Premier League point after the 2-2 draw.

Senne Lammens was forced to watch on for Burnley’s opener after Bashir Humphreys’ cross took a huge deflection from Ayden Heaven’s outstretched leg.

Casemiro failed to close down Bashir Humphreys after the Burnley centre-back was played through and Heaven failed to effectively intercept the ball in the build-up.

Gary Neville immediately noticed that former Manchester United teammate Darren Fletcher was left shocked by what he had seen and was even ‘shaking his head.’

“There’s an inquisition going on back there, but Burnley have had some bright play,” he told Sky Sports, as per BBC Sport.

Gary Neville’s verdict on Man Utd’s Premier League performance against Burnley at Turf Moor

United are now seventh in the Premier League table and the Red Devils missed the opportunity to climb into the top four after the 2-2 result against Burnley.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, Neville said: “Manchester United were better in the second half, but they will be really disappointed with the second goal. They have to defend it better.

“It is another two points dropped against teams near the bottom of the league. They have dropped so many points in the last few weeks.”

United will now begin their FA Cup campaign on Sunday and the Red Devils will welcome Premier League side Brighton to Old Trafford for their third-round fixture.
