La Rascasse, one of Monaco’s most iconic nightlife venues, is set to reopen in April following a major renovation that will give the bar a bold, Formula 1-inspired new look.

The transformation was unveiled by SBM chief executive Stéphane Valeri during his New Year press address on Wednesday.

Closed for refurbishment, the 70-year-old establishment is being completely redesigned after its previous interior was deemed outdated.

Initial draft designs point to a strong racing theme, with a predominantly red colour scheme and a black-and-white chequered floor evoking the Formula 1 flag.

The concept takes direct inspiration from La Rascasse’s location at one of the most famous corners of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit.

Valeri said images of Charles Leclerc’s landmark victory at the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix are likely to feature in the décor, alongside possible Ferrari and Formula 1 elements, though the final design has yet to be confirmed.

A fixture of Monaco nightlife and Grand Prix celebrations for decades, La Rascasse marked its 70th anniversary in 2025. The venue will remain closed until works are completed, with its reopening scheduled for April 2026.
