The Toronto Maple Leafs have several players suiting up at the 2026 Olympics, and plenty of others who have donned their sweater in the past.

The hockey portion of the Olympics is highly anticipated, as this will mark the first time since 2014 that NHL players will be in attendance.

Hockey fans from all over the globe will be tuning in, including plenty of Maple Leafs fans, who will recognize several former players from their team competing. Here’s a look at all nine…

Mitch Marner (Canada)

To no surprise, Mitch Marner, who was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights last offseason, will be suiting up for a stacked Canadian roster at the Olympics.

Though he by no means has been bad this season, Marner’s nine goals and 44 points through 42 games are low by his standards. That said, he should be given plenty of opportunity, along with some of the NHL’s best, to put his stamp on this prestigious event.

Frederik Andersen (Denmark)

Frederik Andersen has struggled to stay healthy during his time with the Carolina Hurricanes, but has generally been quite good when in the crease. That said, he has struggled immensely this season, posting a 3.35 GAA and a .866 SV percentage through 18 games.

Despite his struggles, it was always evident that Andersen, who spent five seasons with the Maple Leafs, would crack Denmark’s roster. Should he be healthy, he will be given the starting role.

David Kampf (Czechia)

David Kampf suited up for 301 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs before having his contract terminated in late November. He’s since latched on with the Vancouver Canucks, where he’s managed two goals and three points through 22 games.

Kampf is one of nine skaters on Czechia currently playing in the NHL. Fans should expect to see him skate in a bottom-six role.

Pontus Holmberg (Sweden)

There were likely plenty of Maple Leafs fans scratching their heads when they saw that Pontus Holmberg had cracked Sweden’s roster. His inclusion has drawn some scrutiny, though he has impressed in a bottom-six role with the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring six goals and 13 points through 35 games.

Martin Marincin (Slovakia)

Martin Marincin is a name Leafs fans will remember, though for all the wrong reasons. The 33-year-old was a major whipping boy throughout his entire 142-game stint with the Leafs, which came to an end following the 2019-20 season.

Marincin, 33, has spent the past five seasons playing for Trinec Ocelari HC in the Czech Extraliga.

Ondrej Kase (Czechia)

Ondrej Kase provided some solid secondary scoring in his only season with the Leafs in 2021-22, putting up 14 goals and 27 points in 50 games. Injuries have plagued his career, and are the main reason why he’s spent the past three seasons playing for Litvinov HC in the Czech Extraliga.

Denis Malgin (Switzerland)

His stint with the Maple Leafs wasn’t a long one, but Denis Malgin appeared in a combined 31 games with the organization, split between the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He’s currently playing for Zurich SC in Switzerland’s NL, scoring 11 goals and 32 points in 33 games.

Mikko Lehtonen (Finland)

After several seasons posting big numbers from the back end in Finland, the Maple Leafs decided to give Mikko Lehtonen a shot on a one-year deal ahead of the 2020-21 season. His time with the organization was very brief, as he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets after just nine games.

Lehtonen wound up going back overseas following the 2020-21 campaign, and has spent the past four seasons in Switzerland.

Kristians Rubins (Latvia)

There are likely many Leafs fans who completely forgot the name Kristians Rubins. The 28-year-old appeared in three games with the organization during the 2021-22 season, the only three games of his NHL career. He is currently playing for Plzen HC in the Czech Extraliga.
