Grip the club more softly.

Most golfers grip the club too tightly. A firm grip will cause you to guide the club, slow down clubhead speed, and induce off-center hits.

You should grip the club with just enough hand pressure so that you do not lose control of the golf club when swinging. Maintain the same amount of hand pressure throughout the swing; changing grip tension will move the shaft plane and clubface out of position.

A more relaxed grip will allow the club to orbit your body in a consistent swing plane without manipulating the club, thereby increasing clubhead speed.

Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
