It’s only a week old, but Gracie Abrams is crushing the new year.
The superstar singer debuted this week as the new face of Chanel’s fine jewelry line Coco Crush, a role that expands an ambassador relationship with the fashion house and one she’s “honored” to have. “I appreciate so much what Chanel’s doing in this very moment and the people that they’re inviting in,” Abrams told The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday night as Chanel was literally inviting people into Chateau Marmont for a starry campaign launch dinner that hosted Keri Russell, Dakota Fanning, Maggie Rogers, PinkPantheress and the phenomenon of the moment — Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie. Abrams spent a few minutes with THR on Chateau’s cobblestone driveway where she discussed her New Year’s Eve ritual, why she is wearing so much Chanel and what her much anticipated new music sounds like.

Gracie Abrams, Happy New Year. Are you a New Year’s resolution person?
I think so. We did a kind of burning of wishes for the new year with secret resolutions and hopes for loved ones.
I love that. Since it’s a secret, I won’t press you for details. Maybe you don’t need resolutions because things are going well so far in 2026 with this new Coco Crush campaign. What’s your relationship to jewelry? Do you remember your first piece?
My first piece of jewelry was a rope bracelet. That was my prized possession until it fell off my wrist. I feel like that it’s a good example of the kind of stuff that I’ve always loved, which is just a piece that you never want to take off. It’s why I’ve enjoyed so much this campaign process and wearing these pieces because whether it’s onstage or at home in my day-to-day life, it’s incredibly comfortable, but also just feels like me. I’m honored to be here with Chanel tonight.

What about Chanel appeals to your personal style?
It’s just very classic. It’s clearly timeless and I appreciate so much what Chanel’s doing in this very moment and the people that they’re inviting in. I feel like myself in the clothes.
I recently saw that you posted that you can’t wait for fans to hear what you’ve been cooking up in the studio with new music. What’s the vibe or inspiration or what can fans expect?
I’m going to keep it under wraps, I suppose, until the moment. But right now I’m just very proud. It’s definitely my favorite music I’ve ever made, and I feel very closely connected to it. I appreciate so much that these albums are time capsules of where I’m at in my life at any given point, but right now it does feel very like me. I hope that whoever finds it, connects with it and that they make it theirs when it’s out one day. But not yet.
I was walking down Sunset and saw your billboard and I’m so used to walking the Strip and seeing so many actors up there. Have you ever thought about acting? Is that something you might do one day?
I love a group project. The concept of being on a set is as thrilling as being on tour where everyone who’s there is there for a reason. These kind of creative environments are so incredibly inspiring to me. So yeah, who knows? We’ll see. We’ll see.
