The Toronto Argonauts released defensive back Istvan Assibo-Dadzie from the practice squad on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Istvan Assibo-Dadzie is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 23-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round (30th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made one tackle in two preseason games.
The Argonauts released him on May 31, 2025. They re-signed Assibo-Dadzie on July 12, 2025. He spent three weeks on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Assibo-Dadzie played three seasons at the University of Windsor (2021-23) making 105 tackles (68 solos, 37 assists), half a tackle for loss, one sack, five interceptions, seven pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries in 30 games for the Lancers.
In 2024, he made 21 tackles (17 solos, 4 assists), two interceptions, and one fumble recovery in eight games. He was named an OUA First Team All-Star and U Sports Second Team All-Canadian.
