NASCAR 25 has announced which Xfinity Series drivers will be included in the game and controversial driver Kris Wright was omitted from the list, adding another chapter to what has been a turbulent year for the 31-year-old.
The newest iteration of the NASCAR video game series has fans eagerly awaiting its release. As the game gets closer to the release date, morsels of information regarding the entry are being released. Among the recent tidbits announced was which drivers from the Xfinity Series would be included in the game.Â
Jesse Love, Connor Zilisch, Ross Chastain, Shane Van Gisbergen, Aric Almirola and Ryan Truex are among the many drivers set to appear in the game. However, Wright was not spotted on the list released by the NASCAR 25 Game X account, which led the embattled driver to make his thoughts known.Â
In response to being omitted from the game, Wright posted – and quickly deleted – his reply on X, which was an emoji of a person with one eyebrow raised, seemingly in disbelief of the news.Â
Fans on X did not take kindly to Wright’s retort, believing the 31-year-old did not earn the right to be included in the game, based on his performance.Â

“The fact that Kris Wright is so despised by the NASCAR community and now he tweeted about not being included in the new NASCAR game is poetic justice. AND he’s getting cooked in the comments of the retweet is completely hilarious and necessary,” one fan wrote.Â
Another added that they are glad to know Wright was not included because of how his racing allegedly caused Our Motorsports to cease operations. “At least Kris Wright isn’t in there since he essentially bankrupt Our Motorsports. I know when I get this game @mattdracing is one of the first drivers I’m doing a race with,” the fan posted.Â
In mid-July, Our Motorsports made the decision to replace Wright with former NASCAR Cup Series driver Kaz Grala. Up to that point, the 31-year-old’s best finish of the season came at Martinsville, where he finished ninth.Â

Around the same time, Our Motorsports announced it would be shutting down immediately after Dover and after parting ways with Wright. Overall, Wright finished in the top 20 just three times over the course of 20 races this season before Our Motorsports closed up shop.Â
With Our Motorsports’ closure, Wright signed a deal with Venturini Motorsports for three races in the ARCA Menards Series. The 31-year-old would race for the team at Iowa, Watkins Glen, and Kansas Speedway.Â
Returning to the team he ran full-time with in 2024, Wright said: “Venturini Motorsports runs a top-notch program, and I’m excited to be back with them this season. The combination of Iowa, Watkins Glen, and Kansas gives me a great variety of tracks, and I’m confident we can go out and compete for wins.”
On X, Wright posted a photo of a jumpsuit with Venturini, stating: “Excitied to have to pull this bak out already.”
