CES 2026 is here, and that means we’re about to see what the next generation of tech will look like. ASUS has gotten us off to a good start by unveiling the ROG XREAL R1, a new pair of AR Glasses made in collaboration with XREAL, a well-known name in AR circles. Before we get into the specs, it’s worth taking a look at the design of the glasses, as they do have a very nice ROG finish to them

As you might expect with an ROG product, they’re not skimping on the technical specifications either, with the glasses boasting a 240Hz micro-OLED display, which can project a virtual screen of up to 171 inches at a perceived 4 meters away. As for resolution, it will support up to 1920×1080.
It connects via USB-C, which is standard for these types of glasses, and is designed to connect to the included ROG Control Dock, which is where you’ll plug your PC, Consoles, and other devices into via DisplayPort and HDMI, allowing you to seamlessly switch between your devices without fiddling with plugging new cables into your glasses.

ASUS makes special mention of the fact that you can connect the glasses directly to your ROG (Xbox) Ally handheld via a compatible USB-C cable, which is far more practical when using the glasses with a handheld. There is also zero setup required, regardless of the device, as all the software is on the glasses side of things.

There’s no word on pricing for the ROG XREAL R1 Gaming Glasses yet, but they will be launching in the first half of 2026.
