Star wide receiver Geno Lewis and the Ottawa Redblacks have reached a contract extension, keeping him with the club through 2027.

He was slated to become a free agent following the 2026 campaign.

“Geno is a player who I’ve enjoyed watching from afar for a long time,” said new Redblacks head coach and general manager Ryan Dinwiddie in a news release. “I’m excited for the opportunity to get to work with him and we’re thrilled to have him in Ottawa through the 2027 season.”

The 32-year-old wideout had a strong season for Ottawa in 2025, catching 75 passes for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns. It was his sixth career 1,000-yard season.

Lewis began his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes in 2017 and played five seasons there before joining the Edmonton Elks in 2023. He then signed as a free agent with the Redblacks prior to last season.

The Wilkes-Barre, Pa., native is a three-time CFL All-Star and has 473 receptions, 7,273 yards and 47 touchdowns during his CFL career.
