On the heels of Cadillac’s reveal of the team’s livery for the upcoming test in Spain, the other Formula 1 teams with close ties to Detroit unveiled their regular-season look at a chilly motorsports festival held Thursday night in the Motor City: Ford presented the liveries for the Oracle Red Bull Racing and the Visa CashApp Racing Bulls, the first F1 teams to do so for the 2026 season.
The Red Bull livery may not be a dramatic shift from what the cars wore for 2025, but there are some significant changes, reflecting Ford’s role in helping provide powertrains in line with the season’s new rules package. Chief among those changes is that roughly 50 percent of the power must come from an electrical source, up from about 20 percent in 2025.

The Red Bull livery is slightly nostalgic, returning to a gloss-finish look that was used when Red Bull entered the sport in 2005. The new livery, the team said, will offer “more depth and clarity, and allow the iconic sun and bull logo to pop.”
The Racing Bulls’ primarily white livery also reflects the partnership with Ford. Team Principal Alan Permane said that this season will be “one of the biggest technical changes Formula 1 has seen, and partnering with Ford at the very start of this journey is hugely significant for us.”

At a seminar Thursday morning at Ford’s new world headquarters in nearby Dearborn, in a building that is technically still under construction, it was revealed that Ford’s role in assisting Red Bull in creating that new powertrain was larger than originally foreseen.
Liveries aside, it should be an interesting year for both teams. Red Bull’s veteran driver, Max Verstappen, will be joined by 21-year-old French driver Isack Hadjar, who moves up from the Racing Bulls, considered the junior team. Verstappen’s car for 2026 will be the number 3; he sported number 1 the past two seasons, but for 2026, that belongs to the 2025 champion, Lando Norris. Hadjar’s first F1 season, in 2025, was spent with the Racing Bulls, where a strong end to the year won him the promotion to Red Bull.

As for the Racing Bulls, those cars will be driven by the returning Liam Lawson and 18-year-old series rookie Arvid Lindblad, who will be the lone rookie this year, as all the other F1 drivers for 2026 have spent at least a season in the series. Last year was Lawson’s first full year in F1: He began 2025 as a driver for the top Red Bull team, but after two races was sent back to the Racing Bulls, replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.
