Police are investigating after the driver of a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in the City of North Vancouver Thursday evening.
The North Vancouver RCMP says officers responded to reports of the collision around 7:30 p.m. on Esplanade West near Waterfront Park.
Mounties have not disclosed many details, but confirmed that a pedestrian died.
Regarding the cause of the crash, police said, “causal factors are not yet known.”
Images from Thursday night show that police stopped an articulated TransLink bus on the scene. TransLink has confirmed to 1130 NewsRadio that the bus was not involved in the crash, but was not allowed to pass through the area while police had roads blocked.
Esplanade West was temporarily closed between Forbes and Chesterfield avenues for several hours.
