Samsung has added another device to the budget-friendly A series smartphone lineup, the A17 5G. According to Samsung, the device is designed for “users who want a reliable and accessible device without sacrificing self-expression.”
To no surprise at all, the device will also support a range of Google’s AI features, including the widely adopted Circle to Search and Gemini. The device also sports a feature called Seamless Action Across Apps, which, according to the tech giant, could allow it to input multiple pieces of info across multiple apps. A great example of this is planning a trip, where Gemini can search for ideas, add events to the calendar, and send messages with a single voice command.
As expected, the A17 5G sports a 50-megapixel main camera (pretty standard for economy-based devices), supported by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. There is also Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to make photos and videos smoother, which is honestly a nice addition.
Now, under the hood, the A17 5G features an octa-core Exynos 1330 processor, with options for 4, 6, or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On another note, though, it is expandable up to 2TB, which is fantastic. screen-wise, the A17 5G uses a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90-Hz refresh rate.
The A17 5G is available now and can be purchased here, and costs C$269.99.
