Television star Davina McCall has revealed she takes a daily dose of creatine to support her ‘muscles, brain and energy’.
The Masked Singer star, who works with Ancient + Brave, said she’s ‘not going to stop’ taking True Creatine+ due to the benefits she has seen to her health and wellbeing.
According to the product description, True Creatine+ is ‘designed to ignite your inner potential’.
It was said to be an ‘expertly formulated blend enhanced with taurine, vitamin D, and magnesium to elevate energy, muscles, bone, and cognitive health’.
True Creatine+ was said to help ‘maintain strength and performance during exercise’, and support ‘natural energy production and daily vitality’.
It could also contribute to ‘focus and cognitive clarity’ and assist in ‘post-exercise recovery and muscle function’.
Discussing the product in a video posted on her Facebook page, Davina said: “You are not going to end up too beefy, unless you want to be. I just wanted to reassure you, you’re going to look gorge.
“You use about 6g of creatine which is about a teaspoon, and just put it in your drink of choice, it is tasteless.
“The reason I take creatine is because I know, especially after my operation, that muscle can disappear really quickly, and I was glad I had a good reserve to lose when I got sick.
“It’s made me realise how important it is, when I’m not sick, I stay fit and healthy, and build muscle again and I’ve done that with creatine’s help.
“It doesn’t bulk you up, it’s good for your brain, it’s good for energy, I’m not going to stop taking creatine.
“Try it, give it a go, I promise you, you won’t end up like a weightlifter, unless you want to be.”
Ancient + Brave sells True Creatine+ in a glass jar – containing 30 servings – with prices starting from £22.40.
Sachets, containing 15 servings, are also available, with prices starting from £17.60.
In the review section, Sarah said: “Started using this as I’m going to the gym more and was feeling very achy.
“This has helped so much and my recovery time is amazing. Easy formula and blends well into water.”
Rachel wrote: “I have only been taking it for less than 15 days so I don’t feel I can give a real review. But what I can say is, I do find it has a slight taste so I put a small amount of sugar free cordial.”
Alternatives include Impact Creatine from MyProtein, currently £12.49, down from £29.99.
Holland and Barrett also have this Optimum Nutrition Micronised Creatine Monohydrate 317g for £16, down from £22.
However Chrystal was a fan of the Ancient + Brave option, and said: “I only discovered creatine in the last 12 months and cant recommend it enough.
“As a 40+ female I find it helps with concentration and mental clarity on a scale I haven’t felt before.
“Easy to drink, I mix mine with the collagen!”
Tania added: “This has really helped with my brain fog, I was sceptical but it has really helped.
“My muscles are less sore after exercise and I seem to recover quicker.
“Will definitely keep using along side me collagen in the morning – both dissolve into my tea tastelessly.”
Louise described True Creatine+ as a “great supplement”, and added: “Use this every day and really like it.
2Only improvement would be to send refill pouches (not plastic) rather than glass bottles but otherwise great.”
