Santos Escobar has officially returned to the ring.

Escobar returned to television during Saturday’s episode of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, which premiered on FOX Latin America. The star was wearing the mask of his father, El Fantasma, and confronted the AAA Latin American Champion, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.

The return was Escobar’s first time in a ring since his contract ended in October with WWE. The star’s contract with WWE ended in early October, and although rumors popped up of his potential leaving, they didn’t last. Escobar quickly re-signed with the company, and now looks to be ready to make a name for himself across multiple promotions.

Escobar hasn’t competed on WWE programming since he appeared on the Worlds Collide special with AAA on June 7. He worked two back-to-back WWE Live events at the end of July in Mexico, but has not competed since then. Despite that, he has appeared on SmackDown in a managerial capacity for Legado del Fantasma’s Angel and Berto on the August 1 episode of SmackDown.
