Trey Miguel made a public statement this afternoon that might shine some light on his shocking AEW release.

AEW fans were buzzing last week when it was announced that the company had signed all four members of the former TNA faction, The Rascalz.

Saturday night on AEW Collision, a backstage segment aired featuring The Rascalz members Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Myron Reed, but Trey Miguel was nowhere to be found. The following day, Miguel took to his Instagram Stories to announce he was taking a break from wrestling and to still support the rest of the faction.

Shortly after his post, it was revealed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select that Miguel had been released. But the reasoning behind said release was currently unknown.

After another update regarding the release this afternoon from Bryan Alvarez, it appears that Miguel wanted to control the narrative of his release going forward.

Trey Miguel took to social media to make the following statement regarding his AEW release, tweeting out:

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my time. I’ve always apologized and did my best to put a better foot forward after. I don’t preach hate and I don’t take any pride in being hateful. I’m a man of faith, I believe in forgiveness and only ever preach that. I’m a different man today,” Trey Miguel said in a post.

This appears to be a similar situation AEW has encountered before

This seemingly appears to be a situation similar to what happened with Jay Briscoe not being allowed to appear on AEW programming due to prior comments he made on social media. However, that’s not currently confirmed.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
