PK Carsport is thrilled to announce the return of Thomas Dombrowski, who will once again pilot the #24 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Euro Series OPEN division for the 2026 season. The determined Frenchman will once again team up with reigning PRO Champion Vittorio Ghirelli, setting his sights on becoming a genuine title contender.
Under the leadership of two-time NASCAR Euro Series Champion Anthony Kumpen, PK Carsport has finalized its formidable 2026 driver lineup. Dombrowski, who secured two impressive podium finishes at the Autodromo di Vallelunga in 2025, is focused on advancing his career, aiming for his maiden NASCAR victory and a serious challenge for the OPEN championship.
“I’m proud to confirm my return to the NASCAR Euro Series for 2026 with PK Carsport,” Dombrowski stated. “It’s the same car, the same dedicated team, and a clear, ambitious goal: to step up, deliver consistent results, and fight for race wins. I’m not here just to participate; I’m here to perform at the highest level. Competing this season with PK Carsport and alongside my friend and teammate Vittorio is fantastic. We are highly motivated, we have a strong team, and we have a lot to prove.”
Since joining the NASCAR Euro Series in 2022 through the NASCAR Recruitment Tests, Dombrowski has shown significant progression year after year. In 2025, the now 24-year-old finished sixth overall and third in the Master Trophy. His hallmark consistency positions him perfectly to challenge for the overall OPEN title, provided he can conquer that final hurdle and find his way to Victory Lane for the first time in his NASCAR career.
Team Principal Anthony Kumpen has full confidence in Dombrowski’s talent and passion, certain that he will elevate his performance in 2026. “Dombrowski is back, and we’re ready,” said the Belgian team boss. “He had a solid season last year. There was an adaptation period, both for him with the team and for us with his driving style. The first year is always the toughest. So, in this second year, we need to step up the game on both sides.”
“Thomas absolutely needs to be a contender for the OPEN championship. Historically, drivers who compete in both the PRO and OPEN championships often hold an advantage in the OPEN class because of the significant extra track time. We saw that the top-3 drivers in the championship this year ran both classes,” Kumpen explained.
“In that regard, I believe Thomas was at a slight disadvantage last year. We intend to address this by providing him with extra testing opportunities, as he did relatively little private testing previously. With more mileage, coupled with the enhanced understanding we now have of his driving and his understanding of the team, I am confident he can be a dominant force in the OPEN championship.”
The 2026 NASCAR Euro Series season kicks off on April 18-19 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. Dombrowski secured one top-5 and two top-10 finishes on the arena-like track in 2025. Starting his 2026 campaign with strong results and silverware would be the perfect declaration that PK Carsport and the Frenchman are serious threats for the coveted OPEN title.
