Air Canada has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People 2026 by Mediacorp Canada, marking the third consecutive year the airline has received the designation.
The annual recognition evaluates employers on the programs they offer to attract and retain younger workers, including paid internships, co-op and work-study programs, mentorship and training opportunities, and career management initiatives.
According to the company, Air Canada offers paid internship programs across multiple disciplines, alongside professional development opportunities. Through its Work Integrated Learning Program, the airline provides work experience placements for post-secondary students from universities across Canada. More than 100 interns joined the organization over the past year across various departments.
Students and early-career employees also have access to online training, including second-language development, diversity, equity and inclusion education, and workshops with the talent team focused on CV optimization, LinkedIn profiles and interview preparation.
To support onboarding, Air Canada offers a buddy system for young professionals joining the airline. Engagement initiatives throughout the year include in-person networking events at the airline’s training centre, museum and hangar, as well as a career orientation event outlining available career paths and development opportunities.
“We are very proud of our progressive HR programs, which again have earned Air Canada recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People,” said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Public Affairs at Air Canada.
“We’re encouraged to see so many young people choosing careers in the aviation industry! There has never been a more exciting time to build a future in this field, especially as Air Canada embarks on our New Frontiers growth phase.”
The Top Employer awards are assessed by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, who evaluate how organizations support early-career talent through education assistance, mentorship, training and advancement programs.
