Sophie Cunningham doesn’t want anyone else’s lips touching hers right now.

On the Monday, January 19, episode of her and friend West Wilson‘s podcast, Show Me Something Sophie Cunningham & West Wilson, the WNBA star, 29, seemingly joked that she contracted Herpes simplex virus (HSV).

“I used someone’s ChapStick and I got a herpe. I have herpes,” she confessed, bringing her face closer to the camera to reveal a red cold sore on her upper lip. “So don’t kiss me.”

“I will say don’t blame it on someone’s chapstick, it’s ok,” Wilson teased, to which the Indiana Fever player insisted, “I don’t care!”

The University of Missouri alum claimed the cold sore didn’t hurt and went on to predict how she thinks she actually got it.

“So what it is, every time I go into different climates, my lips get so dry and for some reason I always get a cold sore,” she explained. “But I also drank after a bunch of people and used a bunch of people’s Chapstick. I didn’t kiss anybody!”

According to the World Health Organization, herpes “is a common infection that can cause painful blisters or ulcers,” and “primarily spreads by skin-to-skin contact.”

Additionally, “Common oral herpes symptoms include blisters (cold sores) or open sores (ulcers) in or around the mouth or lips.”
