Zuffa Boxing

Zuffa Boxing is looking to make another big splash in the boxing world.

Last week, the new boxing organization, headed by UFC CEO Dana White and WWE President Nick Khan, signed the top 10 pound-for-pound fighter, Jai Opetaia.

In a recent interview with TalkSport, Oleksandr Usyk’s team director, Sergey Lapin, revealed that they were in talks with White and Zuffa Boxing.

During Wednesday’s Zuffa Boxing 01 press conference, White confirmed they were in talks with Usyk, and are looking to sign the best boxers in the world.

“We’re talking to everybody we think are the most talented people in the world or have the potential to be the most talented people in the world.”

“We’re looking to sign anyone who we think potentially can be the best in the world or is the best in the world.”

White says he plans to bring the UFC model to boxing and make the biggest fights that he can make.

“If you look at the UFC, not just the success of it but the sustainability of it, I took everything that I loved about boxing, and everything that I hated about boxing, and that’s how we built the UFC. So if it works for the UFC, it should definitely work for boxing.”

“If you look at the NFL and what they’ve been able to do over the last 50 or 60 years, boxing has been around a lot longer than them, so if boxing was built like a business, imagine where it would be today.”

On Friday night, Zuffa Boxing will air its first-ever boxing card, which will feature a main event of Callum Walsh vs Carlos Ocampo, and will air live on Paramount +.
