“As screens continue to get thinner, their speakers have to follow, making it harder than ever to enjoy full-range sound without disturbing others.” says Irene Strueber, senior product manager, “The RS 275 TV Headphones unlock total listening privacy and impressive clarity, whether your TV’s built-in speakers are underwhelming you—or overpowering everyone else.”
Power On Demand
Sennheiser says the RS 275 kit can be up and running in a matter of minutes and the settings can be personalized using the Sennheiser’s free Smart Control Plus app, which is available for Android and iOS devices. The app can be used to tailor features like transparency mode, left-right balance, hearing profiles, device-type audio modes, finding lost headphones and more.
Speaking of clarity, these new headphones have been designed by Sennheiser’s in-house acoustics team and are tuned for vocal intelligibility, while still providing plenty of bass response. The system includes several easy-to-use tools for enhancing dialogue or immersing yourself in surround sound, all without waking any light sleepers or disturbing the neighbors.

The charge can be topped up using the USB-C port on the transmitter hub or you c could use almost any USB-C charger around the home Both the ear cushions and the rechargeable battery can be easily replaced by the user and the whole kit includes a sturdy metal stand for the headphones.
“It was important to make the setup and user experience simple so customers could get to listening immediately. In addition to the headphones being pre-linked to the transmitter out of the box, everything you need to connect is conveniently color-coded,” addsStrueber. “And for those that want to truly make the audio experience their own, the Smart Control Plus app goes even deeper with intuitive personalization from the smartphone already in their pocket.”

When connected to Sennheiser’s Smart Control Plus app, the headphones can use audio presets or user-defined equalizer settings, bass boost and other audio enhancement tools. You can choose between clarity or warmth, for example, which can then be applied as a preference to the HDR 275’s overall character. There’s even a selectable noise suppression mode that reduces any hiss and static while consolidating the signal to mono, making it ideal for watching old movies like Casablanca.
Built-in Auracast
The BTA1 TV Transmitter can harness Auracast to beam wireless audio to any Auracast-compatible devices around the home like headphones, earbuds, hearing aids and loudspeakers that support the standard. The hub has plenty of inputs and other audio enhancement capabilities.
Buttons on the top of the transmitter unit can be used to manually switch the inputs and sound modes, including virtual surround sound and enhanced speech clarity when using TV or HDMI ARC sources. Additional features can be selected using the smartphone app, such as configuring the auto-input switching and video delay compensation, as well as Auracast settings such as the broadcast name, password protection and hearing-aid modes.
The BTA1 transmitter has both optical and 3.5mm inputs for connecting older TVs, stereo systems, laptops and gaming consoles. For most people, the HDMI ARC input will be the input they use to connect TVs or A/V receivers
