EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has dated The Beekeeper 2 for Jan. 15, 2027, which is the MLK four-day holiday weekend.

The first film was also released MLK weekend–January 12, 2024, ultimately grossing $162.6M at the worldwide box office and a 92% Verified Hot rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Timo Tjahjanto and written by Kurt Wimmer, the sequel has Jason Statham returning and also stars Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland. The film is produced and financed by Miramax. As Deadline first told you, Amazon MGM Studios landed The Beekeeper 2 in a $50M-plus global deal.

Producers also include Statham via his Punch Palace Productions banner, Chris Long via Longshot Productions, and Wimmer.

Currently, The Beekeeper 2 is set to go up against a Universal/Blumhouse event title and Paramount’s Children of Blood and Bone from filmmaker Gina Prince-Bythewood.
