2026 is kickstarting with a true biggie in the form of Border 2 and it’s going to be great news at the box office. The film is all set for a fantastic start and if spot booking also compliments the advance booking then even a bumper start can’t be ruled out. Basically, the advance booking has already ensured that Rs. 35 crores is there for the taking and the spot booking should ensure that Rs. 40 crores is comfortably crossed.
Border 2 is the kind of film which has huge appeal outside multiplexes as well and that is because of two reasons. First and foremost, Border has built a legacy for itself and when it was released a generation back, it had broken all records for first day, weekend, week and lifetime. The film was such an euphoria that tickets were not available for days at stretch and be it the urban centres, B cities or the interiors, the craze was unanimous. The war cry was unanimous across board and with the kind of sentiments that audiences are carrying when it comes to this genre, it won’t be any different today either, especially with multiplexes selling tickets at much higher prices coming to the party.
Secondly, Sunny Deol is returning in his fierce avatar after Gadar 2. Yes, there was Jaat and that was a good film, but still it was more of a regular masala movie and here we are talking about the OG superstar returning in the army man avatar and that too from Border franchise that started it all. The combination is simply lethal and all that remains to be seen is the overall film being good as well. Even if it turns out to be a decent enough entertainer, a minimum lifetime of Rs. 300 crores would be there for the taking.
