Disney+ has shared the official trailer for the upcoming special return of The Muppet Show, one of the most beloved variety comedy shows to date. Ahead of the iconic show’s 50th anniversary this September, the special event will premiere on February 4, 2026, exclusively on Disney+ and ABC.

“It’s The Muppet Show! Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the beloved Muppet gang are back with a brand-new special event,” reads the synopsis for the special. “Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos are bound to ensue when The Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!”

Who is in The Muppet Show trailer?

The video highlights the long-awaited return of the Muppet gang, including Miss Piggy and Kermit, who are ready to take the stage once again. The trailer also teases the appearances of its guest stars like Seth Rogen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Maya Rudolph. Rogen, who recently won a Golden Globe for his work on The Studio series, is also serving as an executive producer with Evan Goldberg.

The Muppets special event is directed and executive-produced by Alex Timbers. Veteran Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel will perform the majority of the iconic Muppet characters in this production. They will also be supported by a talented team of additional performers, including Dave Goelz.

Carpenter has also signed on as an executive producer alongside Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee for Point Grey Pictures, David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, and Michael Steinbach for The Muppets Studio, Albertina Rizzo, Matt Vogel, and Eric Jacobson. It is a production by 20th Television and Disney Branded Television.

The Muppet Show was created and produced by Jim Henson. It ran on-air for five seasons from 1976 to 1981. The series was a variety show starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Rowlf the Dog, Scooter, Animal, Walter, and more, in which they performed sketches and musical numbers. It also featured many high-profile guest stars, including Steve Martin, Elton John, Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross, and Mark Hamill.
