WATERTOWN, Wis.— A southeastern Wisconsin racer is taking a major step onto the national stage.
Grant Griesbach, a Pewaukee native who now lives in Watertown, is one of 15 drivers competing in Race For The Seat, a new reality series that offers a pathway into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

The eight-episode series follows drivers as they compete at racetracks across the country, testing their performance, adaptability, and ability to handle high-pressure situations. The winner will earn the opportunity to race a Ram 1500 truck during the 2026 NASCAR season with Kauling Racing.
Griesbach said the opportunity represents a major milestone in a racing journey that began at a young age.
“It’s a way to get my name out there on a national scale,” Griesbach said. “Normally you need some money and some financial support to be able to make that level of NASCAR, that we just don’t have as a family. It just gives me the opportunity to earn my ride, more like other sports where, you know, talent can make it.”
Griesbach comes from a racing family, with a strong track record of success. While has spent most of his career competing in the Midwest since the mid-2010s, the 2025 season marked a breakout year. He notched multiple victories in the Midwest Truck Series and earned his first major Super Late Model win at Wisconsin International Raceway, while continuing to gain experience racing against some of the strongest fields in the region.
For Griesbach, the opportunity represents the next step in a racing career that began at a young age. After years of competing on regional circuits and building experience behind the wheel, he now carries those roots onto a national platform alongside drivers across the country.
“I would say the level of competition was awesome,” Griesbach said. ”Not one person, you know, was singled out to be, worse than the others. Everyone was good. I didn’t expect everyone to be that high of a level. Everyone was really good. Everyone was super talented and they did a really good job selecting the 15.”
The series also offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to climb the motorsports ladder, highlighting the challenges, preparation, and determination required to advance in professional racing.
“I think they’ll learn a lot more about my personality,” Grant said. “We don’t really have too many opportunities with local racing, you know, not being heavily televised to kind of just show who we are. So I feel like a lot of people are going to learn who I am, not only at Wisconsin level, but, you know, the whole world is going to see this.”
