Mieli Mental Health Finland’s Crisis Helpline received a record number of calls last year, according to the association.

The association said over the course of 2025 its volunteers answered more than 110,000 calls from people looking for help. That was roughly 10,000 more answered calls than the previous year.

In total, the helpline received nearly 320,000 calls in 2025, it said. In terms of answered calls, the response rate also increased last year to 35. In 2024, the response rate was 26.

Its Crisis Helpline (09 2525 0116) also offers assistance and support in English for anyone living in Finland.

It is open on Mondays from 4pm-8pm, and on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-1pm.

The service “allows you to discuss your thoughts, feelings and situation in life with a crisis worker or a trained volunteer, for example, all kinds of traumas, divorces, issues in the family or drug abuse”.
