It’s still early days but the manner in which Border 2 is currently going, at the very least it’s a superhit in the making with potential to emerge as a blockbuster. The trending so far in the extended weekend has been tremendous, what with back to back Rs. 50+ crores and 60+ crores scored on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Of course, the real picture would be known once the weekdays kickstart but so far, bountiful collections have come.
Republic Day national holiday further helped the run of this Anurag Singh directed film as yet another huge half century was scored for second day in succession. As much as Rs. 63.59 crores was scored on its Day 4 and that’s a testimony to the appreciation that the film has fetched from the audiences. One can always argue that holiday season is helping a film but then there are countless examples of this not happening when audience looks the other way, despite the most festive season. In case of Border 2, audiences have been thronging the area across A, B and C centres and there is universal appreciation coming in.
In the process, this Sunny Deol led ensemble affair has now crossed Rs. 190 crores mark as well, what with its four-day score reading Rs. 193.48 crores. By the look of things, the hold today would be wonderful enough to warrant a score of over Rs. 20 crores and that should ensure that the 200 Crore Club entry is done and dusted by tonight itself, post which the journey towards the 300 Crore Club in second weekend itself would begin.
