With the perfect weekend, LC State improved to 16-4 overall and 10-2 in league, atop the conference’s standings.

The Warriors contained the Yotes to a 36% shooting mark and prevented any one player from scoring in double figures.

Against EOU, the Warriors avenged their loss from earlier in the season and held the Mounties to a 33.8% shooting mark from the floor.

Idaho at Northern Colorado named Big Sky game of the week

The Big Sky Conference announced that Thursday’s game between the Idaho Vandals women’s basketball squad and the Northern Colorado Bears will be the conference’s game of the week.

The Vandals stand at 15-5 and 6-1 in conference, and the Bears are 15-6 and 6-2 in the Big Sky.

The game will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Vandals came into the season picked third in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches and media polls. Northern Colorado is sitting in third place in the conference table in late January after being picked seventh in the coaches poll and ninth in the media poll.

LC State sweeps George Fox

The No. 24 Lewis-Clark State Warriors earned their first victory of the season in a 7-0 sweep over the Division III George Fox Bruins on Sunday.

LC State swept doubles play, with Gautam Balakrishnan and Jaun Pablo Naranjo winning 6-2 convincingly in the third spot.

In singles, Cesar Coloma blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0 for a quick win in the fifth spot.

Kevin Lu opened his collegiate debut with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the third slot and Giacomo Moreira won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles to clinch the match.
